A quieter scale.
A compact pool sits within a walled courtyard, close to the architecture and the shade of an olive tree. The study explores how a smaller body of water can feel generous when its relationship with the surrounding space is carefully considered.
A restrained material conversation.
Pale limestone, warm paving and clear green-blue water establish a simple palette. The bench is part of the composition, offering a place to pause without filling the courtyard with furniture. Dappled light changes the feeling of the space throughout the day.
The space around the water.
The coping and terrace are considered as part of the same layout. The balance of water, planting and usable ground is more important to this concept than maximizing the pool footprint.
